Business Development Manager

We are looking for a visionary and accommodating Business Development Manager to help the company grow the exciting business into new, high potential markets. The position holds a rare opportunity to become part of a successful investment company focusing on solar energy.

Nordic Solar has undergone impressive progressive growth. Hence, the Investment Department needs to expand the team with an experienced and skilled Business Development Manager. In the position, you will refer directly to the CIO, Holger Bang, however, also holding a dotted line to the CLO Tim Gadatsch.

As Business Development Manager, you will help the company expand the business into new markets, among others, by working closely with potential co-development partners. This encompasses identifying and assessing new pre-RTB projects and taking each project’s legal, financial and technical aspects into account.

Thus, your main responsibilities as Business Development Manager are:

  • To assess and analyse pre-RTB project opportunities offered by potential co-development partners
  • To independently, seek out and analyse new project opportunities
  • To establish and develop selected pre-RTB project opportunities

Working with these areas of responsibilities, you are expected to take the lead in contract negotiations and in regard to related financial implications. Thus, you must carry out financial modelling as part of the origination processes. In addition, you prepare presentations for stakeholders, management, and the Board of Directors.

Likewise, you structure the co-development cooperation frameworks encompassing the monitoring and coordination of the development processes, also ensuring milestone completion. Consequently, the position focuses on developing and maintaining the network of potential partners in Europe and beyond; thus, traveling activity must be expected.

Experienced and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager
To succeed in the position, you must hold a master’s degree in engineering, law, or finance, representing a high academic standard. In addition, you represent 5-10 years of experience working with project development within solar energy (or wind). Consequently, you must have succeeded in bringing projects from greenfield to the RTB stage and realized the construction of projects.

Additionally, you have a strong network within the solar industry which you maintain and extend continuously. Indeed, you represent an excellent commercial understanding acting as a skilled negotiator. This includes a good numeric sense and a natural interest in MS Excel. You are likewise expected to hold great IT skills, having worked in relevant systems/programs. Finally, you should feel motivated to engage in the maturing renewable energy business.
