Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Nordic Solar has undergone impressive progressive growth; hence, the EPC Department needs to expand the team with an experienced and skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer. Referring directly to the Head of Engineering, Matthias Kaa Ingemann Johansen, you will be responsible for and taking lead on reviewing, drafting/final design and plant equipment configuration, as well as ensuring the technical requirement and documentation needed in each PV plant.
Hence, your main responsibilities as Senior Electrical Design Engineer are:
- Assisting Project Development team with early phase basic layout, plant techno-economic optimization and yield assessment
- Design of PV sites: Electrical and Mechanical planning, single line diagrams and electrical diagrams
- Layout drawings of PV sites ready for construction using AutoCAD and PVcase
- PV yield assessments/simulations and optimizations, e.g., using PVsyst
- Participate in PV technology, electrical equipment selection and supplier relations
- Test and quality planning for PV constructions
- Documentation packages for PV sites, pre- and post-construction
- Technical discussions and planning with local authorities etc.
- Adhering to codes and standards according to the industry
Taking on the role, you will take full responsibility for designing, documenting, and executing the design of PV Sites, as well as delivering sharp yield assessment, ensuring future project performance quality and to take project responsibility. Furthermore, you will continuously develop relations with the growing environment of suppliers and contribute to technical discussion and planning in a constructive and innovative way.
Senior Electrical Design Engineer with a solid technical understanding
We imagine that you hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering and have at least five years of experience from the solar industry. Furthermore, you possess a solid technical understanding of the PV environment, where you have been working with larger solar projects. Moreover, it is a requirement that you have experience with working with AutoCAD, PVSyst (simulations), and preferably PVCase, as well as Microsoft Office. Finally, it is considered an advantage if you have experience from at least one of the EU markets, e.g., Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Lithuania, Denmark, Greece etc.
