Sustainability & Compliance Specialist

We are hiring a Sustainability & Compliance specialist to join the Sustainability & ESG team. The first step on the journey will be becoming familiar with the company and our ESG practices and help implement a new CSRD system.

As a Sustainability & Compliance Specialist, you will make an impact through your work, being part of a small team characterised by passion, a sense of humor and a positive work environment. You will report to the Head of Sustainability & ESG, Mette Just Elkjær, and work out of the Hellerup-office (Copenhagen).

As the Sustainability & Compliance Specialist your main responsibilities will include:

    • Development and setup of the CSRD system in collaboration with the finance department
    • Assisting the organization in achieving compliance with CSRD and overall compliance.
    • Collecting, analyzing, and ensuring the quality of data.
    • Drafting sustainability reports and reporting, including general information
    • Understanding compliance language and translating laws and regulations into actions and behaviors.
    • Being part of sustainability strategy processes and setting high and ambitious goals.
    • Serving as the point of contact for the business – the person to reach out to for questions and issues.
    • Staying updated on new legislation in the governance (G) area and reports.
    • Support in contract negotiation within the area of Sustainability & Compliance
    • Handling ad-hoc tasks.

Passionate and proactive Sustainability & Compliance specialist
You don’t necessarily need to have a specific educational background, but it’s desired that you have at least a relevant bachelor’s degree. However, to excel in the role, it’s a requirement that you bring a minimum of 3 years of experience with the area of; CSRD, DDD, OECD, EU taxonomy or UN guiding principles, as well as experience and a strong interest in working with governance. It is an advantage if you also have a background within the consultancy industry.

Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will have the most significant impact as you contribute with knowledge about sustainability compliance. From a personal perspective, Nordic Solar is looking for a candidate who embodies qualities of sociability, maturity, and proactivity, coupled with a genuine passion for the field of sustainability and compliance. It is crucial to maintain a positive attitude, exhibit honesty, and possess a “Doer” mentality. Equally important is the ability to be highly educational and capable of simplifying complex regulations for easy understanding.
