We are looking for a visionary and accommodating Technical Business Development Manager to help the company grow the exciting business into new, high potential markets. The position holds a rare opportunity to become part of a successful energy company focusing on solar energy.
Nordic Solar has undergone progressive growth. Hence, the Investment Department needs to expand the team with an experienced and skilled Technical Business Development Manager. In the position, you will refer directly to the CIO, Holger Bang, however, also holding a dotted line to the CLO Tim Gadatsch.
As Technical Business Development Manager, you will help the company expand the business within existing and new markets, among others, by working closely with potential co-development partners. This encompasses cooperation with colleagues in identifying and assessing new pre-RTB projects from the engineering side.
Thus, your main responsibilities as Technical Business Development Manager are:
- Responsible for project design and configuration in early evaluation and review phases of new project opportunities.
- Responsible for design, technology selection, plant equipment configuration until Ready-to-Build stage.
- Responsible for providing all necessary EPC inputs required during development stage.
- Following technology development globally, development of new potential vendors, consultants and contractors.
Working with these areas of responsibilities, you are expected to take the lead on all technical and environmental aspects of our development projects. Thus, you must be strong on relevant IT tools such as AutoCAD (or similar), PVSyst etc as well as having a solid financial understanding. In addition, you work with your colleagues on preparing presentations for stakeholders, management, and the Board of Directors with all technical and environmental aspects.
Likewise, you work with your business development colleagues to structure the co-development cooperation frameworks encompassing the monitoring and coordination of the development processes, ensuring milestone completion. Consequently, the position focuses on developing and maintaining the network of potential partners in Europe and beyond; thus, traveling activity must be expected.
Experienced and entrepreneurial Technical Business Development Manager
To succeed in the position, you should preferably hold a master’s degree in engineering, potentially within mechanical, electrical, or renewable or equivalent technical education – representing a high academic standard. In addition, you represent 5-10 years of experience working with Engineering, EPC and/or project development within solar energy (or wind). Consequently, you must have succeeded in bringing projects from greenfield to the RTB stage and realized the construction of projects. It is critical, that you have industry experience within solar energy.
Additionally, you have a strong network within the solar industry which you maintain and extend continuously. Indeed, you represent an excellent commercial understanding acting as a skilled negotiator. This includes a good numeric sense and a natural interest in the supporting IT systems. Finally, you should feel motivated to engage in the maturing renewable energy business.
