Senior Legal Manager

We are looking for a trained and analytical Senior Legal Manager with solid legal skills and sound commercial understanding who wants to support the company’s progressive growth. In doing this, you become part of a skilled team working with legal matters related to the acquisition, development, construction, financing, and operation of solar farms.

Skilled legal team in a growing company

Nordic Solars legal team currently consist of 5 legal managers (with different seniority levels) and a legal secretary, who are responsible for all legal questions arising out of the acquisition, development, construction, financing, and operation of the solar farms owned by Nordic Solar. Moreover, the team handles all other legal questions arising in connection with Nordic Solars activities.

Nordic Solar is searching for an additional Senior Legal Manager to support the legal team in its work. The ideal candidate is an experienced lawyer, in-house legal counsel or similar profile with experience in M&A, project financing, project contracts (PPAs, EPC (especially FIDIC based contracts) and O&M), renewables, and/or real estate and wants to be part of a dynamic and growing team. As Senior Legal Manager you will be responsible for handling the following tasks together with the rest of the team:

  • Supporting the investment team with project acquisition, project development, financing, and general matters related to the investments;
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of a wide range of contracts such as NBOs and similar agreements, SPAs, short- and long-term financing agreements, power purchase agreements and other agreements related to the acquisition and development of solar farms;
  • Supporting the construction and operations team with drafting, reviewing and negotiating EPC, procurement, and O&M contracts;
  • Managing local legal advisors in cooperation with the investment team and specifically overseeing legal due diligence processes; and
  • Assisting on ad-hoc legal tasks within the organisation

In addition to these areas of responsibility, you will provide legal advice to the management, as well as other departments within Nordic Solar. Furthermore, you cooperate with the investment team on review of tariff and subsidy regimes (national or corporate-based) as well as the overall regulatory framework under which the investments are made. Additionally, you will participate in the structuring of new investment products within Nordic Solar, as well as managing other ad-hoc tasks.

Trained and analytical lawyer or legal counsel with sound commercial understanding

Taking on the role as Nordic Solars Senior Legal Manager, you are expected to hold an exam from Denmark or another EU country, representing substantial work experience (at least 5 years), preferably within the renewables, construction, financing, or transaction industry. Computer literacy in MS Excel and Word is also expected. Moreover, you represent excellent analytical and time management skills with keen attention to detail. In addition, proficiency in English is essential, just as the following languages are considered an advantage: German, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Danish or another European language.
