Senior Legal Manager – EPC & Operations
We are looking for an experienced, highly skilled and motivated lawyer with substantial experience in construction law, preferably within the PV business, who wants to support Nordic Solar’s progressive growth. As Senior Legal Manager – EPC & Operations, you will become part of a skilled legal team and work closely with Nordic Solar ’s international EPC and Operations teams.
Skilled teams in a growing company
Nordic Solar’s legal team currently consists of seven lawyers, a legal coordinator, and two document controllers responsible for all legal questions arising out of the acquisition, development, construction, financing, and operation of the solar farms owned by Nordic Solar. Moreover, the team handles all other legal questions concerning Nordic Solar’s activities.
As part of Nordic Solar’s growth journey, Nordic Solar is searching for a senior legal manager who has substantial experience with international construction contracts (for example FIDIC based contracts) and preferably also procurement. Experience within the PV business, including operation and maintenance contracts for PV plants, is considered an advantage.
The position offers a high level of responsibility and independence while working closely with colleagues in legal and the fast-growing international EPC and Operations teams on contract reviews, negotiations, and drafting, as well as ongoing questions to contract management, interpretation, disputes, and litigation related to procurement, construction, and operational matters.
In this role, you will be the main person responsible for supporting the EPC and Operations department on legal matters such as:
- Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting EPC, construction, and procurement contracts, as well as EPC management agreements
- Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting operation and maintenance contracts
- Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting power purchase agreements, grid connection agreements and other contracts related to the connection and operation of PV plants
- Advising on contractual questions and legal disputes related to the contracts mentioned above, including warranty claims
- Keeping oversight of legal matters related to projects and contracts in your remit and advising management and other colleagues about all related legal risks, including claims and disputes
- Advising on the planning and execution of tender processes
- Participation in strategic and commercial considerations regarding construction and procurement strategies and framework agreements
- Preparing, updating, and improving contract templates related to the EPC and Operations contracts
- Managing local legal advisors engaged to assist on matters related to EPC and operations
- Supporting regulatory matters related to the construction and operation of PV plants
- Nordic Solar is growing fast and is expecting to construct more than 1.7 GW before 2025. Thus, it is likely that the need for additional legal support on construction, procurement, and operational matters will increase and that more construction lawyers will be joining in the future. As Senior Legal Manager – EPC & Operations, you will play a key role in the strategic considerations and expansion of the Legal EPC and Operations team.
Trained and analytical lawyer with sound commercial understanding
As the Senior Legal Manager – EPC & Operations at Nordic Solar, you bring a wealth of expertise in construction contracts, particularly within the renewables sector. Your law degree from Denmark or another EU country, combined with at least six years of experience, sets you apart. You have strong analytical and time management skills and proficiency in English. Proficiency in additional languages such as German, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Danish, or another European language is considered a plus. Finally, you are also comfortable with computer software such as MS Excel and Word.
Dynamic and solution-oriented team player with a positive attitude
As a person, you are positive and solution-orientated, and you take responsibility for your work and tasks and ensure that they are solved satisfactorily and timely. You are ambitious, self-motivated, and thrive when working in teams. You possess a good sense of humor and see opportunities where others may not. Moreover, you appreciate when details are accurate, not losing sight of the overall target or picture. You are ambitious with your work and performance and eager to contribute to the growth of Nordic Solar. Finally, you are a team member who enjoys sharing knowledge and experiences with the rest of the teams.
